Long
Range Planning
The
Long Range Planning Section is responsible for the preparation, adoption
and implementation of plans and policies used to guide decisions concerning
Monmouth County’s future physical development.
Some of the specific tasks of the Long Range Planning Section include
the following:

Prepare
and, from time to time, modify elements of the Monmouth County Growth
Management Guide.

Review
and provide input on proposed municipal master plans, zoning ordinances
and land development regulations.
Monitor plan implementation and effectiveness through the use of indicators
and targets.

Encourage
and promote consistency and coordination between municipal, county,
regional and state plans and programs.

Review
and comment on proposed planning-related public policy and legislation.

Provide
technical assistance to municipalities on land-use planning matters.
-
Prepare
and issue white papers or planning bulletins on the implementation
of specific Growth Management Guide policies.

Sponsor
seminars or workshops on planning education and other land-use planning
issues.

Promote
public participation in the planning process.

Review
and comment on projects and programs submitted for county review through
the State Review Process.

Review
and comment on proposed and amended Regional Contribution Agreements.
