     This web page is designed to help people understand what Fair Housing and tenant rights are all about.

     The Monmouth County Fair Housing was established to provide service and assistance to the general public. However, groups targeted for priority counseling and assistance include: MINORITIES, HANDICAPPED, HOMELESS, SENIOR, CITIZENS, FAIR HOUSING, GROUPS, HOMEBUILDERS, LENDING INSTITUTIONS, REAL ESTATE AGENCIES, AND MUNICIPALITIES.

                                                  SERVICES

Coordination of a county-wide approach to ensure fair housing for residents.

Establish of an intake and screening procedure for discrimination complaints. Services will include assistance and counseling on procedures for filing a complaint, help in completing the complaint forms, and review and verification process.

Provide general information and assistance on housing problems, and when necessary refer clients to other agencies that are funded and staffed to handle a specific housing problem, including referral to the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights.

Education, training and technical assistance to individuals, groups, agencies and / or organizations.

Acquire and coordinate assistance of the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights, and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development
